Summer Camps

Have you a young artist at home who has ever wanted to explore their creativity? If this sounds like the sort of thing your young artist would like to do this summer, then read on and sign them up for the Columbia Art League's Young Artists' Summer Art Camp for children ages 6 to 9 and ages 10 to 13.

Columbia Police Department Summer Camp is for youth who have completed 6th grade through youth entering 12th grade. The camp features public safety occupations and topics to include vehicle traffic/DWI; firefighting; EMT and much more. The primary learning tool will be hands-on activities. University of Missouri Columbia offers a wide variety of sports summer camp programs, from baseball to softball; basketball to swimming; volleyball to tennis; and much more. Please visit the MU Camps & Clinics website for more details and registration information.

Equestrian Summer Camp is offered at Stephen's College, through their summer riding program 2009. Camp is open to children age 8 to 18. Information and registration form available online.

La Petite Ecole, the French immersion preschool, offers summer camp programs for children age 3 to 6 and ages 7 to 9 during the week of July 13 to 17.

The Little Gym offers a variety of weekly summer camps for children - with flexibility to attend one day in a week, multiple days, or the entire week. Themes change weekly and active play is part of their program!

The School of Music at the University of Missouri offers a variety of music camps over the summer. Programs include Piano, Band, Choir, Composition, Strings and Orchestra Chamber!

The Columbia Equestrian Center offers a variety of riding camps for area children interested in horseback riding skills development.

For the budding actor, TRYPS offers three TRYPS Summer Theater Camps this year for children - each camp has a limit of six children, so register early!

CAMP ADVENTURE is a summer day camp operated by the Columbia Parks and Recreation Department. CAMP ADVENTURE strongly emphasizes outdoor living skills and awareness of nature and the environment. Camp activities encourage use of the senses and development of curiosity.

InSite LEGO Robotics Camps are offered at the University of Missouri for children from first grade through high school.

The Missouri 4-H offers a variety of Summers @ Mizzou Camps and are offered with the option to go each day, or stay overnight! The camps are designed for children in grades six to twelve.

Camp Clover Point 4-H Camping Summer Camp is June 9-12, 2009 for Boone and Cooper counties. This year's theme is Keep it Green! Those attending join campers from across the region to celebrate a wide variety of 4-H Projects while enjoying old camp favorites like swimming, canteens and campfire ceremonies!

Camp Hickory Hill sustains a community, culture and medically-sound program of support for children with diabetes, using their camp environment to foster education, self-reliance, confidence, an active lifestyle and skill in the successful management of diabetes.

Wonderland Camp is to provide a fun, educational camp experience for mentally and physically challenged individuals, to offer a respite from daily care giving for family members and health care workers and to provide and nurture a personal development experience for volunteers and staff.

Since 1926, Kanakuk Kamps has been providing great outdoor summer sports camps that promote personal growth and Christian character. Each year we host over 14,000 kampers ages 7-18 in our eight summer camps for an Exciting Adventure in Christian Athletics.

Fun in the Son Ministries is a non-denominational youth ministry founded for the sole purpose of reaching today's youth for Jesus Christ. The Missouri Military Academy Summer Confidence Camp is an opportunity for boys, 8-11 years old, to learn how to follow the example of good leaders while having the time of their lives!

The Nike Tennis Camp offers both overnight and day camp (8:30am-4:00pm) options. Lunch is provided for day campers. Campers will use the four-year old Green Tennis Center. This unique tennis structure has four outdoor courts that are protected by tent-like retractable walls, allowing for all weather play, year around.

Columbia College Cougars Summer Camps 2009 offer summer camp programs for basketball, soccer, and softball for children preschool through high school.

Registration is going on now for the Columbia Parks and Recreation Department’s Active Kids Club, a half-day summer camp for children entering third through eighth grades in the fall. To register or for more information, please call 874-7460.

Cub Scout Summer Camps for boys who are cub scouts to get outside, play games, swim, hike, fish, and take great adventures.

Boy Scout Summer Camps are located on the Lake of the Ozarks Osage Arm near Laurie, Missouri, amid spectacular natural beauty and extreme rocky terrain, at the Hohn Scout Reservation. Hohn's 450 acres of wilderness plays host to the Great Rivers Council's Boy Scout Summer Camp, Project C.O.P.E., Climbing, and Sail Master programs.
